Essential oils vs Fragrance oils

The main difference between fragrance oils and essential oils is that fragrance oils are made in a laboratory while essential oils are made from natural materials. This difference comes from the ingredients that make up each oil and where those ingredients are derived from. 

Fragrance oils are artificial oils made to mimic they are a natural fragrance. They are created in a laboratory and are of 2 types - synthetic and natural. Please make no mistake natural fragrance oils are made by isolating naturally derived aromatics, but they are still man-made in a laboratory. Essential oils are powerful oils extracted from aromatic plant parts, including roots, herbs, or flowers, to capture their beneficial properties, aromas, and flavors. Essential oils are 100% oil and are "pure", meaning they have not been diluted, blended, or processed and have no additives.
